enrichment
An enrichment activity is an opportunity to learn outside of a traditional classroom setting.
Enrichment activities typically involve attending, viewing, or participating in various events and performances such as: orchestra performances, art shows, museum exhibits, author talks, guest speakers/lectures, workshops, college campus visits, community service projects, cultural festivals, job shadowing or internships, etc. Students not only participate in these experiences but reflect on them in writing as well. We believe that seeking out significant and challenging experiences is important, but critical reflection on these experiences is even more important. Taking time to consider the experience, your thoughts and actions, and implications for the future is when real learning occurs. |
